Wilco - Impossible Germany (Live in Barcelona)

Saw these guys at the Tivoli last night and I'm still blissfully happy after yet another incredible show. If you don't know who Wilco are, find out. If you haven't seen them yet, make the effort. They never disappoint! While personally Nils Cline and Jeff Tweedy stand out as my favorites of the sextet, the whole band possess extraordinary musicality. Each song is beautifully crafted and balanced and embellished with accomplished instrumentation. Impossible Germany and Jesus Etc were highlights of the set last night although I wish they had played more from 'A Ghost is Born'. Looking forward to the next tour for another evening with Wilco. Thank-you for last night!

I'm The Man Who Loves You

McQueen by Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 Lookbook. See the rest here.

Sister Won't You Ride With Me

Primary

Paula Walden is, similarly to Lauren Elise and Priya Cox, a recent QUT graduate. She designs incredible accessories; neckpieces, headpieces, rings, even shoes. My favorite is probably the sun beam yellow piece in the first photo but if you are intrigued so far you need to peruse her webpage, where everything from grand pianos to sequined stars to toy soldiers can be found. Paula recently won the iD Dunedin Emerging Jewellry award and I'm excited to see what the future holds for this talented Brisbane girl.

I Love You Golden Blue

Photos by Cara Stricker
A preview of the new Romance was Born film. If I was attending RAFW next week their show would be on the top of my list to see, I have been a huge fan of every collection. This one is looking just as promising! There is definitely a spot for the above silver tinsel dress in my wardrobe, and that bodysuit is a perfect union of everything I love about Cynthia Rowley's pastel neoprene goodness and other exciting embellishments - fringing, big fish scale sequins, frills, dance costumesque hologram lycra - so great. I'm going to a shiny and furry houseparty this weekend at an amazing riverside venue and the bodysuit would be the ideal costume.

Dreamboats

Drawings by a friend, Jesse Olsen. I love the detail and really want one of these on my wall when I have some more living space of my own.

Lust for Life

Love all of the above, available at Claire Incorruptible.

Morning Has Broken

I spent the long weekend at the coast, enjoying good friends company, amazing food, picture perfect weather and lazy afternoons at some of the happiest places in the world, Tea Tree and Tall Talk.

Build the Nation

This is a recent present from my boyfriend - really great shirt as all Vans tees are. I am still cut that I couldn't get the shoes in my size, and even more so that the tour has been cancelled. This band is one of my all time favorites.

I Want To Walk Around With You

Sabrina Dehoff bracelets.
Remind me of primary school era friendship bracelets, unfortunately the trading rules are different when one is all grown up - I wish I could swap Sabrina a choc chip muesli bar for one of these beauties.

Thurston Hearts the Who

Another friend whose work is currently showcased at the Fashioned exhibition at Artisan, Priya Cox. I love that this collection can just as easily be worn by girls as by the boys in the above lookbook. The cape is in the exhibition at the moment and even more amazing in the flesh. Also really love the orange shouldered shirt. Again, no webpage to link to for Priya but keep your eyes and ears alert for great things to come from this girl.

Lauren Elise Clarke

This evening I went to the Fashioned: Unleashed 2010 exhibition opening at Artisan, which showcased the works of eleven up and coming fashion designers. I've been dying to see the work of one of my friends, Lauren Elise Clarke, in person for sometime, and I must say it was worth the wait. Each piece looked so completely comfortable, wearable and yet elegant. Check out her A/W 2010 lookbook above and stay tuned for more news.
