Sing, Brother

A few looks from Sass + Bide's 'Sing, Brother' collection, dropping in stores from June.  I'm loving all of these looks head to toe, particularly the orange flag print palazzo pants and top.

Ignite the Flame

I am so incredible thrilled to see the eagerly anticipated AW 12 collection, 'Flame', from celebrated Sydney designer Elliot Ward-Fear. The above images are just a selection from the striking lookbook, featuring New Zealand talent Liv O'Driscoll and the creative genius of photographer Thom Kerr and stylist Cassandra Scott-Finn. The images form arguably the most impressive lookbook to be released in Australia for the season, not surprising considering the stellar calibre of the team which produced it.

As for the clothes, the lush fabrication, impeccable tailoring and unique silhouettes are what sets Elliot's work apart from the rest in my personal opinion. The jacket/dress in the first shot is my pick from the collection, however the intricately structured mini dresses and latex under garments hold enormous potential for styling inspiration. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented young designer.

Indulgence

Zimmermann released the lookbook for Autumn Winter 2012 today (see the entirety here at Marie Claire). The collection, Rebellion is the Night, features Nicky Zimmermann's stunning signature prints and feminine silhouettes. The silk faille floral suiting will be divine, as will the delicate lace pieces. I can't wait to see this in stores early next year.

The Birds

I fell in love with this print and recently purchased these Sass and Bide pants.. branching out from my skirts and blouses/dresses routine! These are the first pair of pants I've bought in four years. Let's see how they fare over the summer in my wardrobe...

Paranoid

My friends at Gail Sorronda have organised this fun sale for this weekend, for once Brisbane isn't missing out on the sweet sample and past season sales that our southern state friends often get privileged to enjoy! I am excited to score myself some RWB goodies...

Starry Starry Night

So in news from Brisbane - local tights label Black Milk Clothing is now available at iconic American online store Nasty Gal, and my friend Sara looks amazing modelling a new Black Milk creation, the Crystal bodysuit. You can check out the James' blog here for regular BMC updates and hot pictures of Sara.

Hang Tell Bite Well

Photography: Jessie Warren
Clothes and Styling: Martha Poggioli
Model: Sarah Birchley
I ran into an old friend today and was reminded of this shoot for Martha Poggioli's capsule collection while she was still studying at QUT. I still really love the juxtaposition of the mustard and lilac in the dresses.

Baby's On Fire

I have always wanted to be a redhead and can't help but be filled with envy everytime I see Tiah Eckhardt's gorgeous locks. She is one of my favorite Australian models - check out her blog here.

Subzero Fun

Alice Who? platform heels. Love love love the shape - so wearable with the hefty hidden platform. I would wear the velvet ones non stop with socks for everyday and keep the blue glitter ones for dancing the night away...

Maddening Cloud

Karla Spetic illustration print blazer and skirt
Birthday Suit sequined headpiece and sweet jumper

I'm really excited by head-to-toe prints at the moment and these are a few Australian born and bred goodies that would fit nicely into my printastic plan.

Fruity Times and Wonders

Ok, wow. The four people in Australian fashion that I respect the most, all looking amazingly fun. Anna Plunkett, Jenny Kee, Luke Sales and Linda Jackson. Just at uni innocently researching for an assignment I'm writing on Australian vintage fashion and this little gem popped up in a google image search. Made my monotonous uni day for sure!

Her Name Is Rio

I visited one of my favorite Brisbane stores, Violent Green yesterday and spotted this little beauty inside. Resisted the urge to try on but was definitely thinking about it last night so might need to go back! This darling little dress is by Sydney label Strummer, whose current collection I discovered has plenty of pieces that would fit nicely into my wardrobe. They have a brown version of my favorite cut of leather skirt, as well as a Celine-esque leather tee that looks buttery soft and, even better than Celine, comes in black!
