Paranoid

My friends at Gail Sorronda have organised this fun sale for this weekend, for once Brisbane isn't missing out on the sweet sample and past season sales that our southern state friends often get privileged to enjoy! I am excited to score myself some RWB goodies...

Belle, It's You I Want

Tristan Blair pony hair leopard print shoes at Violent Green

Sretsis gold ruffle bodysuit
Internet has been a bit of a rarity for me of late, as has spare time, so here's a bundle of goodies that I've been wowed by over the last week or so. The Romance Was Born violin jacket was always going to have a soft spot in my heart, as a music student and long time violinist it holds huge kitsch value for me to wear it but also love it so sick just as a great feature jacket. Imagining it layered with my vintage black sheer maxi dress and fur trim motorbike boots. Also really love how they've styled it on the girl in the lookbook, would be stoked to own that whole outfit! The Jurassic Ikat outfit would look shocking on my non model body but I think it is amazing.
Violent Green seem to be the prime offenders for tempting me to spend my measly income at the moment, (recently put down a deposit for the bag of my dreams - Deadly Ponies, black fur, amazing!). Perusing their blog this morning I came across these photos of these Tristan Blair shoes - I think they could be the replacement I've been looking for for the Ashish X Topshop wedges? While a completely different shaped shoe, they are probably far more practical for my lifestyle than the 6" wedges and still so so sick. Going to head in there this arvo and hope they still have a pair in my size!
Chasing Bow has the skirt version of this Sretsis bodysuit in store at the moment and it is gorgeous! Would be perfect in my wardrobe - even has a velvet band at the waist. I love the bodysuit too but not sure if it is stocked anywhere in Brisbane. Bodysuits are definitely something I need to try on, being pretty tall means the shoulder to crutch ratio is pretty vital and not always right!

Fruity Times and Wonders

Ok, wow. The four people in Australian fashion that I respect the most, all looking amazingly fun. Anna Plunkett, Jenny Kee, Luke Sales and Linda Jackson. Just at uni innocently researching for an assignment I'm writing on Australian vintage fashion and this little gem popped up in a google image search. Made my monotonous uni day for sure!

You're Wild, And I'm Wild About You

Photos via Vogue
I've been waiting for this show for weeks and definitely not disappointed one little bit. Things I would like in my closet from the above photos - EVERYTHING in that sweet prehistoric diorama mash up digital print; thigh high boots, the amazing cut out collar dress, the bodysuit, the leggings.. everything. The harlequin print furry mini dress. That crochet headpiece would be nice, reminiscent of my ever adored octopus beanie. Whatever it is that the babe in head to toe pink is wearing, I want it. And then the piece de resistance - the scalloped sequined maxi dress. I am moving house and trying to cull clothes urges but this collection would, and always will be an exception to the 'I don't really need that' rule. I am so proud that amongst the often monotonous safeness of Australian fashion, Luke and Anna of Romance Was Born don't give a shit and just have fun. Really fucking awesome beautiful wearable fun.

I Love You Golden Blue

Photos by Cara Stricker
A preview of the new Romance was Born film. If I was attending RAFW next week their show would be on the top of my list to see, I have been a huge fan of every collection. This one is looking just as promising! There is definitely a spot for the above silver tinsel dress in my wardrobe, and that bodysuit is a perfect union of everything I love about Cynthia Rowley's pastel neoprene goodness and other exciting embellishments - fringing, big fish scale sequins, frills, dance costumesque hologram lycra - so great. I'm going to a shiny and furry houseparty this weekend at an amazing riverside venue and the bodysuit would be the ideal costume.
