Anticipating Bliss

Internet has been a bit of a rarity for me of late, as has spare time, so here's a bundle of goodies that I've been wowed by over the last week or so. The Romance Was Born violin jacket was always going to have a soft spot in my heart, as a music student and long time violinist it holds huge kitsch value for me to wear it but also love it so sick just as a great feature jacket. Imagining it layered with my vintage black sheer maxi dress and fur trim motorbike boots. Also really love how they've styled it on the girl in the lookbook, would be stoked to own that whole outfit! The Jurassic Ikat outfit would look shocking on my non model body but I think it is amazing.

Violent Green seem to be the prime offenders for tempting me to spend my measly income at the moment, (recently put down a deposit for the bag of my dreams - Deadly Ponies, black fur, amazing!). Perusing their blog this morning I came across these photos of these Tristan Blair shoes - I think they could be the replacement I've been looking for for the Ashish X Topshop wedges? While a completely different shaped shoe, they are probably far more practical for my lifestyle than the 6" wedges and still so so sick. Going to head in there this arvo and hope they still have a pair in my size!

Chasing Bow has the skirt version of this Sretsis bodysuit in store at the moment and it is gorgeous! Would be perfect in my wardrobe - even has a velvet band at the waist. I love the bodysuit too but not sure if it is stocked anywhere in Brisbane. Bodysuits are definitely something I need to try on, being pretty tall means the shoulder to crutch ratio is pretty vital and not always right!

For my birthday this week I was completely and utterly spoilt, so lucky! One great present I received was a beautiful taupe Elke ring , which the girls at my work picked out for me. I've loved Elke Kramer's jewellry since I first spotted it on the Violent Green blog but have always had other spending priorities (mostly Deadly Ponies related eek!) I was just looking at the Elke site and was stoked to find this photo - I have that EXACT pink vintage loop cardi and love it so much! Going to invest in some chunky Elke bangles now so I can rock this look..

Her Name Is Rio

I visited one of my favorite Brisbane stores, Violent Green yesterday and spotted this little beauty inside. Resisted the urge to try on but was definitely thinking about it last night so might need to go back! This darling little dress is by Sydney label Strummer, whose current collection I discovered has plenty of pieces that would fit nicely into my wardrobe. They have a brown version of my favorite cut of leather skirt, as well as a Celine-esque leather tee that looks buttery soft and, even better than Celine, comes in black!

Wittner 'Tess' Velvet Ballet Flats in Black

These are the most recent of my acquisitions from shopping adventures in the last week or so. Unbelievably I have not owned a pair of black flats which are not boots for almost a year - when in need I've just been borrowing my mum's. These come in maroon and royal blue aswell, in my quest for healthy and painless feet after fracturing my foot earlier this year I am seriously considering buying the two other colors. Really, really comfortable and soft.

Deadly Ponies 'Mr Fill and Zip Twist' Bag at Violent Green

I can't say enough good things about Deadly Ponies. After buying my first of their bags last year from Violent Green I haven't even thought of looking at other bags. Money aside, I could easily own every bag in every color from the current collection. However, I was in need of a new black bag after my well worn and loved uni bag handles broke and this has been the replacement on my mind for months since I first saw the lookbook earlier this year. Thankfully the kids at Violent Green put up with my persistent and borderline desperate phonecalls and requests and I now own this beautiful piece of buttery soft leather. I've now found out that this bag comes not only in brown but black fur.. one of my all time favorite textiles.. Might need to start saving again.

Witchery Gathered Leather Skirt

I have this shape skirt in several vintage incarnations and love it! This one is particularly nice and soft.
